Keith Alpert is a veteran strength and conditioning coach with over 35 years of experience
training athletes and active adults. Since 1988, he has specialized in strength development,
mobility, conditioning, and performance optimization across multiple disciplines including
biomechanics, exercise science, nutrition, and functional neurology.
Keith has been featured on ESPN SportsCenter and in publications including Sports Illustrated, The Boston Globe, and American Health & Fitness Magazine. He is widely respected for his ability to combine precise program design with an engaging, highly personalized coaching style. Whether working one on one or as part of a high-performance support team, Keith designs individualized training and nutrition programs that deliver elite results while respecting each client’s body, goals, and lifestyle.
Throughout his career, Keith has worked with more than 100 professional athletes and numerous NCAA athletes across Divisions I, II, and III. His professional clients have included LaVoy Allen (Indiana Pacers), Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure and 2012 first round pick of the Orlando Magic), Antonio Davis (Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors), Theo Ratliff (Los Angeles
Lakers), and Mark Eaton (Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Islanders), along with championship
athletes across multiple professional leagues. His client base has also included prominent
business leaders such as Arthur Winn of The Winn Companies and Ron Logue of State Street
Corporation.
Since 2010, Keith has trained hundreds of boys and girls from more than 25 local public and
private high schools. His athletes have earned All-League and All State honors and competed on state, sectional, and league championship teams. In 2025 alone, he coached three football players from the same Massachusetts public high school who each earned Division I scholarships, a rare achievement in the state.
Keith holds a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts and maintains
certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He also holds a
Level Four International Coach Certification from the Poliquin Performance Institute under the
mentorship of the late Charles Poliquin. In addition, Keith has spent over a decade advancing his expertise in functional neurology, integrating neurological assessment and reflex based training into his performance and rehabilitation work. He continues to pursue advanced education through ongoing coursework, seminars, and certification in anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, muscle testing, strength and conditioning, and Functional Neurology.
A Boston native, Keith lives in Needham, Massachusetts with his wife and two children, where
he operates Athletist, a private strength and performance coaching studio.
